Photos and comments from : Bush Park Alley Days Reunion - 2013ad
Here is pictures of what happened at Bush Park 'that Sunday'
Hey, First the disclaimer: These pictures were taken with the U.S. 1st amendment in mind. I tried not to take 'bad' pictures. There shouldn't be any 'illegal' activity in the photos, and if there is, ignore it. Some of these pictures might have been taken (peeled) from Facebook. The comments are written in English. The people here are members of the public, and the pictures (mostly) were taken in a public park.
Also, to let you know the truth..... These people are basically the Kidz that used to 'hang-out' in downtown Salem after 1980ad. The alley refered to in the title of the event is on Church st here in Salem, OR between Church and Chemeketa and between Liberty and High ...streets that is a real place.
Okay, allow me to set the stage, and truer than fiction.... this is pretty much what happened (only what I know true). In 1976 I (George) got The Sex Pistols - Nevermind the Bolloks Album from my cousin, he got it from his big brother (don't feel sorry, his brother also gave him a nice Fender Strat and Amp and he gave me the album it was pink). ..Blah blah blah happened, Junior high and these two punker chicks took me to a Dead Kennedy's concert because I waz the only skater (nazi punks fuck off armband 45rpm).
Then, I skipped school and started hanging-out downtown to look at chicks, and made a pal to the record store guy who noticed my armband thingy or sumpthing, but he let me to the 'alternative' section of the record store. This store waz the one next door to the Elsinore. Simply put, I would walk around downtown to gaze upon females to mate and I started spending more and more time downtown. Eventually Punk rock got more popular and I started drinking gourmet coffee. This puts us in the '80s. By the '90s skateboarding downtown was illegal and peoples parents were worried that there darling little skaterboy was in a punk rock gang of sum unknown origin. ...And I wuz. So I lead a double life for a while. It wuz on one of my returns from the great state of California that kids had started hanging-out in the alley because it wuz right outside Ranch Records. After that it is historically eaches to thy ownes experiences.
The reason I mention this is for future reference, because I fill it would be shamefull to loose the history involved with Punk Rock. Water under the bridge now, everybody went the way of the whatever.
So basically the next time 'an old person' tells you, "Back when I was a kid,..." you know he/she is talking crap.
